Rich, intense spicy aromas. Smooth texture with beautiful silky tannin. Long ageing potential.

The vines started shooting early September with mild temperatures and very little rain throughout Spring time, flowering started by the mid November and was completed within two weeks. We were set for an early harvest.
Still with very little rain, our Summer was hot and sunny.
A good rain at the end of January (46mm in the Coal River Valley) came at the right time to support a good ripening and quantity. Vintage kicked off on the 22 February 2016 and was all done by the 20th April 2016.
All wines have benefited from superb Summer and are well balanced. The Reds have intense colour and flavours.

Variety: 100% Cabernet Franc, sustainably grown
Region: 100% Coal River Valley, Southern Tasmania
Yield: 5 to 6 tonnes per hectare (2 – 2.4 tonnes per acre)

Crushed in fermenter, yeast inoculated then hand plunged. Pressed and aged in French oak for 24 months.
