W e l l i n g t o n 2 0 0 4 C h a r d o n n a yThis wine is made from fruit grown at Relbia in northern Tasmania and the Coal Valley in south-eastern Tasmania.
Bouquet: White stonefruit and melon flavours reflect the ripe Chardonnay fruit, while delicate grapefruit, creamy and toasty flavours have resulted from the fermentation, lees contact and maturation in French oak barriques.
Palate: The aroma continues on to the palate, and is further enhanced by fruit sweetness and great length from the crisp acidity resulting from the wine not having undergone malolactic fermentation.
Ageing potential: At least 5 years.
Alcohol: Alcohol: 13.5% vol (8.0 standard drinks)
Food suggestions: Poultry, pork, veal and a wide range of seafood dishes.
