The Roaring 40s range of wines is intended to be “ready to drink”, fruit driven and affordable. The wines are blended from several Tasmanian vineyards to have clear and characteristic varietal flavours. Additional winemaking inputs, particularly wood, are used sparingly, if at all, in order to provide some complexity without compromising primary fruit characters.
This wine is essentially a fruit-driven, unwooded style of Chardonnay. As a result of the wine not having undergone malolactic fermentation, it retains fresh fruit flavours, crisp acidity and finesse, rather than the buttery, fat flavours that often accompany this secondary fermentation.
It is suitable for early drinking, but will also age well for at least five years
